We previously discussed the challenges that surround the formal data Dependencies that play an integral role our daily production work inside Autodesk Civil 3D. It is safe to say that we learn to manage Dependencies, or the Dependencies control us.
Put another way – we employ Civil 3D to produce managed projects of data references and those…

We are dependent on Autodesk Civil 3D to get our project work done and to execute our work and produce our deliverables. The number of formal data Dependencies inside Civil 3D and our civil engineering and survey projects appears to do nothing but increase and become more complex. Dependencies are trending and dependencies also tend to explode.
Software…

We could argue that any consideration of workflows in Autodesk Civil 3D is merely a result of the considerable depth of function that is already built into the software. Civil 3D does support a virtual feast of inherent capabilities for civil engineers and surveyors.
We could also argue that all this attention is unwarranted. The emphasis is only necessary because of the strange mix of old…

The daily production mechanics of Autodesk Civil 3D’s interconnected and project-based Dynamic Model are indeed very powerful. These sometimes-convoluted mechanics can be downright overwhelming as well. We aren’t always so clear what that means at the very practical and daily work level.
We are all confronted with a daunting certainty in Civil 3D. The simple…
