We continue to explore the powerful relationships between the Civil 3D Alignment and the many mission critical Design Control Manager roles in Civil 3D in this on-going series of posts we name the Book of Alignments.
There are at least a dozen design control management roles for the Alignment in Civil 3D.
A substantial number of…

Alignments in Autodesk Civil 3D have Types. Whoopie. No Biggie. If we get the Type wrong when we create the Alignment, we can change the Type? Errr. Well sort of and it depends. This is Civil 3D. Some Civil 3D Feature Properties and Parent and Child relationship properties only can be built on creation. Some may be destroyed by a manual change of Alignment Type.

Hey, maybe the Autodesk Civil development team knew something before we did? If you have to work from home for the next month, Civil 3D Collaboration for BIM 360 Design may suddenly make a lot more sense. This may not happen in your corner of Civil 3D Land this week, but it might sooner rather than later.
I’m pretty sure I’ve already seen Autodesk will help you work…

Better software tools can certainly automate a lot of the drudgery in civil engineering design and survey tasks. That’s a good thing. That is often reason enough to buy and upgrade your Civil 3D. We are waiting for the Civil 3D 2020.1 Update after all.
Our intention to increase our reported speed to results in Civil 3D can directly get in the path of better results. Speed…
