Nov 22, 2011 - Autodesk released Service Pack 1 for the Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler 2012.

AIM 2012

The AIM 2012 Service Pack 1 is a bit difficult to find. Currently, the service pack can only be found on the bottom of the Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler product page - www.autodesk.com\infrastructure-modeler

There are both 64 and 32 bit versions of the Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler 2012 SP1

Read the README before installing the correct version for your installation.

Primary Issues Resolved by the Update

The following defects have been fixed in Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler SP1:

Setting a raster to "topographic map" on import resulted in a crash.
This defect has been fixed.

Snapping to a right angle when drawing a building is now possible.
During the drawing of a building, the invisible grid is automatically turned on. You can snap to a right angle base on this grid when drawing corners of a building. To turn this feature off, hold down the Ctrl key while you draw. This will deactivate the grid snapping.

The grid size is set to an increment of 2.5 meters. You can change this increment by editing the alx_building_tool.xml file in the model directory: \.files\styles\draw_tools. The default parameter is SnapDistance="2.5".

Setting the default unit to anything other than meters resulted in inaccurate measurements.
Set the unit in the measurement drop-down. It will be converted to the unit of the model coordinate system.

Themes created in one proposal were not available after switching to another proposal.
A theme created in a proposal is now available in other proposals.

There were problems with unit conversion on import.
Units are now converted properly on import.

Importing DWG files containing blocks resulted in a crash.
This action no longer results in a crash. However, DWG blocks still cannot be imported and this is as designed.

Selecting the items in the flyout menu by right-clicking toolbar buttons caused a crash.
The implementation of this option was changed, and selecting it does not result in a crash. Select the flyout items to open the correct dialog.

Importing an Autodesk Civil 3D DWG file resulted in a crash due to unresolved xrefs and other data issues.
This action no longer results in a crash. However, unresolved xrefs still cannot be imported and this is as designed.

Japanese characters do not display in Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler 2012.
