One of my favorite AutoCAD interface tweaks remains palette rollover transparency which you can set for one or all palettes in your interface.
Reclaim More Work Space
AutoCAD Civil 3D is notoriously piggy about screen real estate with its plethora of editing and informational palettes. Rollover transparency allows you to have a palette almost visible and become more clearly visible only when you want it that way.
Be warned, not every Civil 3D command that wants a screen pick does well when crossing over the palettes. You must learn to swoop around the barely invisible.
Don't you wish you could do this for the big Civil 3D dialog boxes too? Tell Autodesk.
