People at Autodesk must be read my mind.
I do a post on Imagery in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 on one day and the very next day Autodesk Labs announces a brand new Imagery technology preview for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 and AutoCAD Map 3D 2013.
Honestly, I didn't cheat - not even one little bit.

Base Jump into Images and More

Project BaseJump

Project Basejump allows you to employ Bing imagery and other goodies right inside of Civil 3D or Map 3D 2013. Here the link to Project Basejump
Here's the basic skinny on the latest TP:

Project Basejump for AutoCAD® Map 3D® 2013 and AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2013 software is a free* technoloy preview that provides functionality that enables users to access Microsoft® Bing® web mapping services (WMS) maps within AutoCAD Map 3D and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

With Project Basejump, AutoCAD Map 3D and AutoCAD Civil 3D software users can access Microsoft Bing data including aerial imagery, road, traffic, and other information within an AutoCAD environment.

Project Basejump is available in English. The English language version can be installed on any language version of AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 or AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 software. Once installed, a new Microsoft Bing Data Connection will be available from within the Data Connect user interface. This technology preview will operate until June 30, 2012

Note that the Project Basejump technology preview runs out pretty quickly.
Whata wanna bet that later in the year something like this is in a Subscription Advantage pack or in a Service Pack or
Is this a new service coming for inside Autodesk apps?

Why were things a little bit "testy" around the subject of Google Earth? Beats me.

What the Jump?

Can you hear me heave a big sigh?
Please! Someone pull me off this ledge in Yosemite!
Autodesk really must be reading my mind.
Goooooood names are sooooooooooooooooooo hard to find tooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Snatch my NEXT product name right out of thin air will they...
SPLAT

And here I thought the Jump was the Base of the Good for AutoCAD Civil 3D.
