This the week of Autodesk University 2019 in Las Vegas, NV. A whole bunch of folks from Civil 3D Land will be there including many friends and clients of mine. Say hello if you meet them. We can expect that Autodesk University is jam-packed and crammed with speeches, seminars, learning sessions, and more big news about all things Autodesk.
Civil Interoperability at AU 2019
On the civil side of AU 2019 we can expect lots of Autodesk focus on the new and improved Interoperability tools for Civil 3D, Infraworks, Revit et al. There has been a significant effort on Autodesk part over the last year.
Many of the significant improvements have been accomplished with ESRI as an actively cooperating partner.
Autodesk and ESRI already share many mutually authorized channel partners. Perhaps there will be an official announcement of that and more mutual product collection offerings at AU 2019 this year.
ESRI has already announced and released worldwide new GIS product Collection products with the Autodesk Connector for ArcGIS Online as a centerpiece after the release of that mutually developed product in the late summer.
Call it BIM for Operations
If your firm or organization focuses on what I like to call the Operations Engineering space, the Autodesk Connector for ArcGIS, the joint initiatives with ESRI, and those collected products are a potential game changer.
Move the Goalposts or Remove the Fence Posts?
These changes and the related others have changed the borders of Civil 3D Land forever.
See the Civil 3D Update Features That Work post and all the rest of the recent Civil Interoperability posts linked at the bottom of that page. There are more than a few new things to think about, study, and put to work.
There is certainly more to that story…
Autodesk University Live Stream
You don’t have to miss all the AU action. You can watch AU sessions from your own office or even from home via an improved Autodesk University Live Stream. The selection of available remote presentations of AU events and sessions has expanded considerably.
See the Autodesk University 2019 Live Stream for multiple live stream channels to participate in AU 2019 remotely.
Some of the best presenters in Civil 3D Land have live stream or recorded screencast sessions scheduled for delivery via AU Live Steam.
Need I remind you…
It’s What You Don’t Know that Kills You
You might want to drop in on the AU Live Stream and learn a thing or two.
