Managed symbol graphics in Autodesk Civil 3D can become a challenge. Not because it is particularly hard to do. This is AutoCAD 101 basics afterall. Inside Civil 3D there is an overwhelming amount of this detailed and sometimes project specific annotative detail in modern civil engineering and survey project plan set deliverables.
The Framework for Civil 3D employs our innovative and now popular concept of the Symbol Set to systematically manage the problem. If the symbols we need today have to change, we employ the Power of Names to manage the beast and make the Civil 3D Diva far more adaptive.
Change the underlying graphical content but keep the managed names of the blocks the same. We can then more easily publish work that meets the sometimes seemingly arbitrary demands of clients and/or jurisdictions. Intelligent publish on demand can become a reality not just another protest march.
This all got even easier in Civil 3D 2020 and Civil 3D 2021 because of the new Insert Block Palette tools. Fast Block redefinition is easier than ever and now only a Right Click away. In 2021, even cloud-based libraries resources are supported. Way cool.

Symbol Set Civil 3D 2020.4 Update
The Framework for Civil 3D Symbol Set Library is a large collection of Civil 3D Point Styles and managed symbol resources. Multiple variations of civil engineering and survey common and specialty symbol blocks are included with the Spreadsheet Tools and scripting resources to create, edit, and manage these important resources employed in Civil 3D.
The Symbol Set Library is included in the Framework for Civil 3D Jump Kit products.
Symbol Set Library is a collection of NCS, generic Framework for Civil 3D, and reconstructed LDT AutoCAD blocks with the complementary Civil 3D Point Styles and basic management tools and resources.

Based on customer requests an updated Symbol Set Spreadsheet Tool now includes built-in script production of AutoCAD block redefinitions in addition to the already supplied Insertion and Update functionalities and resources.
Scripting comes is mighty handy when you need to construct consistent and managed resources.
The new Symbol Set resources may also be employed with Framework for Civil 3D Civil 3D 2020 Release 7.
The supplied resources are Layer Standard and Framework for Civil 3D release agnostic.
The supplied AutoCAD block library resources may be employed any AutoCAD 2018+ based product.
