The Autodesk 2023 product releases late last week featured the release of the new Autodesk Innovyze InfoWorks Products. The Autodesk and Innovyze merger from last year has born Autodesk 2023 product fruit.
Many organizations in Civil 3D Land are in the business of Operations Engineering (Storm, Sanitary, and Water Systems) so the new products should be welcome news. The new desktop products carry both Innovyze and Autodesk Info branding and officially fall under the Autodesk AEC Collection product list. All are available with Autodesk subscription. The Innovyze cloud products remain on the Innovyze side of the house for the time being.
Do not let the new Autodesk InfroWorks and Autodesk Infraworks product names confuse you.
A single little vowel creates considerable differences in product functionality and usage.
All the new Autodesk Info products support some level of import capabilities for Autodesk Civil 3D Storm, Sanitary, and Water Systems. Interoperability detailed functionality between the various 2023 Autodesk products has not yet been publicly released. Perhaps we can expect more interoperability details when Autodesk Civil 3D 2023 is released? What Civil 3D does is very different from InfoWorks ICM functionality.
InfoWorks ICM
InfoWorks ICM is advanced integrated catchment modeling software for modeling complex hydraulic and hydrologic network elements quickly, accurately, and collaboratively for water and wastewater. With InfoWorks ICM, you can:
- Plan for capacity improvements, system expansions, and emergency scenarios
- Deliver easy-to-interpret visual results
- Accommodate small municipalities and large enterprise organizations
The current FAQs say the InfoWorks ICM with Autodesk subscription supports use of three InfoWorks ICM releases and may be installed on three computers. Only a single user license may be employed at the same time.
SWMM Model Management in InfoWorks ICM
A review of the new SWMM Model functionalities in the latest release of InfoWorks ICM. Can we say better data behind for Storm and Flood Systems?
InfoDrainage
InfoDrainage is a full design and analysis solution that designers, developers, landscape architects, engineers, consultants, and approval authorities rely on to:
- Design and audit drainage systems quickly and confidently
- Deliver sustainable, cost-effective, and compliant designs
- Access a complete BIM (Building Information Modeling) solution
The current FAQs say the InfoDrainage with Autodesk subscription supports use of three InfoDrainage releases and may be installed on three computers. Only a single user license may be employed at the same time.
InfoWater Pro
InfoWater Pro software allows engineers employ to model water distribution systems in an easy-to-use GIS interface within ArcGIS Pro.
- Leverage spatial analysis tools available in ArcGIS Pro to help with model building and management
- Run countless scenarios to simulate a wide range of simulations
- Present results clearly that you can share in ArcGIS Online
InfoWater Pro is typically used by GIS practitioners looking to answer hydraulic questions. They can easily model water networks from within the familiar ArcGIS Pro and take advantage of spatial analysis and visualization tools.
The current FAQs say the InfoWater Pro with Autodesk subscription supports use of three InfoWater Pro releases and may be installed on three computers. Only a single user license may be employed at the same time.
InfoWorks WS Pro
InfoWorks WS Pro allows engineers can accurately model water distribution systems.
- Collaborate within and across teams and organizations, leveraging a multi-user master database.
- Simulate what-if scenarios to plan for the short- and long-term horizons.
- Accurately represent system operations in record speed, including a wide range of pumps and valves.
InfoWorks WS Pro is used by engineering teams who don’t require ArcGIS, especially if multiple modelers are in the engineering team. It also provides advanced modelers with the ability to explore scripting to automate model maintenance and the import of data from different sources.
The current FAQs say the InfoWorks WS Pro with Autodesk subscription supports use of three InfoWorks WS Pro releases and may be installed on three computers. Only a single user license may be employed at the same time.
Info360 Asset
