It is now less than 30 days until Autodesk University 2024 (AU 2024) starts on Oct 14, 2024. Of course, the official AU 2024 event dates are October 15-17 in San Diego, CA. Everyone knows that the most fun day is that busy Monday before AU starts. It’s the day for quiet (or not so quiet) meetings with friends both old and new. Eheh.
I somehow always manage to meet the most interesting people on AU Monday.
Why does that phrase sound a bit like the name of a famous 60’s rock ballad?
The AU 2024 Effect
Autodesk has already released many, if not most, of the requisite and last-minute product Updates, Extensions, etc. An earlier AU 2024 start date has certainly moved product development along briskly this year.
It appears to little old me, that the .Net 8 update mandate for all 2025 product development helped to move things along as well.
As usual it’s a good news, bad news thang.
Sadly, we are also in the normal pre-AU video and posting drought.
We get it.
Many folks…at least those who will be presenting at AU 2024…Will save their best and deeper stuff for the Really Big Show. I did. You would too.

Manage Civil 3D Projects Better in the Future
There are a couple of last-minute Civil 3D goodies we are still waiting for like perhaps an up-coming update to the Autodesk DWG Migration for Docs app that many of us hope to get access to before AU2024. I, for one, am holding my breath.
Everyone with any sense knows we always need better Civil 3D Project integrity check and fix it tools. Even if we only work on a local network or a local computer and not in the Clouds, really checking any Civil 3D Project of any depth takes some doing.
See the Civil 3D help for what is the current state of Autodesk DWG Migration for Docs.
