Right before the Fourth of July holiday Autodesk quietly released the Civil 3D 2026 Extension and Plug-in updates to many of the Civil 3D Toolbox Utilities. There were also new releases of some the newer Civil 3D Ribbon tools. Right after the weekend Autodesk released an important Infraworks 2026 Hotfix update as well. Hoorah.
Some folks out here in Civil 3D Land wait for the release of one or more of these sometimes mission critical and familiar Civil 3D tools and utilities before upgrading to the relevant Civil 3D release.
You know who you are.
Autodesk Civil 3D 2026 Toolbox Extensions Released
All of that says that we continue to gear up for an upcoming Autodesk Civil 3D 2026.1 Update that appears to be due out any day now.
How long can we hold our breath?
It’s just fine to consider all this new code as a necessary part of the Civil 3D 2026.1 Object Model updates.
All of the following titles are linked to the relevant News posts that include more details and links to the Release Notes.
Let’s start with the newly released Civil 3D related code that is not found in the Civil 3D Toolbox.
InfraWorks 2026.0.1 Hotfix
A useful fix it update to the most recent version of our old friend InfraWorks. This update will replace the previously installed version of InfraWorks 2026.
Infrastructure Parts Editor 2026
The Infrastructure Parts Editor allows us to create and manage parametric drainage parts, assemblies, and catalogs across both Civil 3D and InfraWorks.
The Inventor Infrastructure Modeler Plugin 2026 was previously released in May.
Another not to be missed recent update…
Autodesk Licensing Service 15.6.0.13599
The ALS (Autodesk Licensing Service) 15.6.0.13599 update requires that we close all open Autodesk apps prior to the installation.
The latest July release means there were two official ALS updates in the last 30 days or so. Consider the latest ALS to be the greatest and the least likely to cause us a hassle. Eheh.
Geotechnical Modeler Extension 2026
This code adds a tab to the Civil 3D ribbon. The Geotechnical Modeler Extension provides a suite of tools to visualize, process, analyze and export geotechnical data directly within the Civil 3D environment for use in a variety of civil engineering design projects.
Speaking of Ribbon tabs and Add-ins - How can we connect our Civil 3D to the InfoDrainage?
InfoWorks ICM Import and Export Plug-in 2026
The InfoWorks ICM Import and Export Plug-in enables the exchange of gravity pipe network data between Autodesk InfoWorks ICM and Autodesk Civil 3D.
InfoWorks ICM Import and Export Plug-in commands are accessible on the InfoWorks ICM Import-Export panel on the Add-ins ribbon tab.
Next and definitely not least - the familiar Civil 3D Toolbox fare…
SHP Import Export Utility 2026
The SHP Import Export Utility provides Civil 3D users with the ability to exchange linear strings and COGO points with other systems that support creation and reading of SHP format files.
This utility allows Civil 3D users can control the resulting Civil 3D object appearance, style, point groups, etc. resulting in the streamlined creation of production drawings. The extension also adds property set data to imported objects resulting in a more intelligent Civil 3D model.
PPK Survey Extension 2026
If we need this tool, we’ve been waiting and we know all about it.
The PPK Survey Extension provides an interface for importing GPS data (in RINEX format) for analysis, reporting, and converting it to coordinate geometry points in an Autodesk Civil 3D drawing.
More Extensions and Plug Ins
We can be sure that there will be additional Extensions and Plug-ins for the typical Civil 3D global interop applications released real soon now.
