Autodesk University 2026 begins today Sept 15, 2026. This year AU returns to the Las Vegas strip and the Venetian event center. I cannot be sure. For some strange reason that reminds me of that big hair ‘80s tune by the Bangels - Walks like an Egyptian. Oh…Ohhh.
I know. My dogs be barkin’. Eheh.
What goes round and round and up and down?
This begs the question,
Where’s my next AU session room?
The walkabout search continues.
Autodesk University 2026 Begins Today
If you cannot be there to strut your stuff at AU 2026 in person, you can still sign up for a free AU Digital Pass that allows you to view the on-line streamed sessions and main stage keynotes.
The free AU Digital Pass also gets us access to AU Online and the recorded sessions after the fact.
If you want to learn something new about almost any Autodesk software, app, or cloud service, AU Online remains a solid go to resource. On AU Online there are years and years of good content delivered by some remarkable folks.
Back in the day, the publishing of the AU sessions sometimes took a while. These days the recorded sessions and published content goes live online way sooner... 30 days or less.

“Let’s Make Responsible AI Real.”
Ok. The Autodesk marketing folks love to talk about learning, innovation, and connection.
Yeah. We already mentioned that too. What we call the Learn and Burn matters. We need to learn the new and burn the old on a regular and recurring basis. Just sayin’.
Out here in Civil 3D Land our deliverable consistency, managed Standards, better QAQC workflows, and improved construction integration can all produce better real-world results.
Sometimes these major miracles may even cost less money.
Of course, that depends on us and them.
Here’s John Sayre’s demo of the improved Autodesk Assistant’s AI driven CAD Standards cleanup capabilities in the latest Civil 3D 2027.1 Update.
AI Standards Cleanup in AutoCAD 2027
This short video is well worth a watch.
“Dave? Can we do that?”
Autodesk wants to host our projects in their clouds. We trust you know that Autodesk Docs got renamed earlier this year to Autodesk Forma.
What we share with others is always a serious pain. The entire mess and process is always far more expensive than we really want to talk about.
Here’s a very recent video that helps address some of those issues…
Cloud Data Exchange Connector for Civil 3D
Notice the new Autodesk cloud’s Data Exchange Connector for Civil 3D was released shortly before AU this year and not on the usual Autodesk Infrastructure public pages and sites.
Did you notice there is also a new Data Exchange Connector for Revit, a Data Exchange Connector for Bentley Open Roads and Microstation, and probably somewhere out there is a new or upcoming Data Exchange Connector for ESRI?
Do we already have that?
Have fun with AU 2026.
Learn and Burn.
