Comments
Shawn covers the basic mechanics here pretty quickly and well. You'd maybe like to see a Parcel report or two?
I'd probably refine the scope a bit more with a Map Query on an attached Parcels drawing, but that's just me.
It is hard find really clean parcel data from most public sources. SHP can hide a lot of geometry sins and duplicates.
Without a MAPCLEAN process on the geometry you may create some interesting parcel segment junk that can come back to haunt you.
Tie in a New Road to Existing

Ian Robinson of GRAITEC walks through the details of tying a new road to an existing road while keeping the data dynamic to simplify design changes.

Comments
Ian employs survey data to create and existing road corridor model based on the Civil 3D capability to now employ Feature Line as a Baseline. He then modifies the Regions in that and connects the existing model to a new road design model with new Regions for the intersection by employing Connecting Alignments and dynamic Profiles.A good detailed demo of all the new and necessary Civil 3D mechanics done with British flair and verbage.
