 Infraworks Model Repairs

Infraworks Model Repairs

2/8/2018

Jeff Bartels of Autodesk shows how to clear the Infraworks TileCache to fix model display and resolve issues.
From the Jeff Bartels YouTube Channel.
and the Civil Immersion blog.

Comments

Jeff's post also included a links to an older AKN post How to recover an Infraworks Project with some more processes that might help.

Know your Autodesk product's AppData folder. I do tend try to remember to Duplicate Models at key points.

 Import Civil 3D Object Layers

Import Civil 3D Object Layers

2/8/2018

Ron Couillard of USCAD demonstrates a method of how to import Civil 3D Object Layer Settings from one Civil 3D drawing to another via an undocumented feature.
From the USCADBuilding YouTube channel
and Ron Couilard's blog on USCAD.com

Comments

This undocumented feature has existed in Civil 3D for a few releases. Don't count on it working tomorrow.

If you don't have Civil 3D 2017 or 2018, you probably want a separate Object Settings drawing and use the ACAD INSERT command with the EXPLODE checkbox checked.
The 2017+ Reference Template Tools can be employed to pull only Object Settings from one drawing or template to another.

See the Who Broke Civil 3D Reference Templates blog post with videos and details about the issues.

Create a Profile From a File

Create a Profile From a File

2/6/2018

Jerry Bartels of Autodesk demonstrates the CREATEPROFILEFROMFILE command. How to create a Profile from an ASCII file with PVI Station, PVI Elevation, and optional Vertical Curve Length data.
From the Jerry's YouTube Channel.
and the Civil Immersion blog.

Comments

The CREATEPROFILEFROMFILE command really comes in handy when the raw ASCII data is what you have.
The file does NOT become a reference.
The Profile Geometry Editor also includes a way to input PVIs manually this way or better yet by copy and paste from an ASCII file.
