 Mask Control of Contour Labels

Mask Control of Contour Labels

1/25/2018

Autodesk's Jeff Bartels shows how to to control Civil 3D contour label masking by object and by Feature setting.
From the Jeff Bartels YouTube Channel.
and the Civil Immersion blog.

Comments

It is easy to miss the reality that every Contour Label has a Contour Label Line component. The fix works whether you employ the Multiple Contour label tool or not.

From a publication and performance viewpoint you might want to Label the surfaces in separate drawings and publish them as stacked referenced DWFs instead of XREFs.

Comments

The Transparent commands in Civil 3D may be the best thing since sliced bread or Starbucks coffee depending on your vices.

A Retaining Wall By Example Part 2

A Retaining Wall By Example Part 2

1/19/2018

Autodesk's Alan Gilbert walks through an in-depth, complete, and complex retaining wall subassembly example in the Subassembly Composer.

Videos from Alan's YouTube Channel.
and the Civil Immersion blog.

Comments

Alan's retaining wall PKT solution presented here solves the classic stepped retaining wall design issue.
My issues are in the details - like not employing the existing Civil 3D stock subassemblies Codes to make the PKT more compatible and easier to maintain.
Ok. It is a not-so-basic how to on the Subassembly Composer not targeted at standards development and maintenance.
