The Autodesk Civil 3D 2023.1 Update is available via the Autodesk Desktop Connector app or via download from the Autodesk subscription site.

The update requires access to the original install resources.

The Civil 3D 2023 update collaboration functionally requires the latest AutoCAD 2023.1 Update and a recent version of the Autodesk Desktop Connector (15.7.0.1767).

Autodesk Civil 3D 2023.1 Update

The Civil 3D 2023.1 Update is focused on Civil 3D Plan Production Tool enhancements to help improve the functionality of Civil 3D publication in the Autodesk Cloud and Collaboration environment in the AutoCAD Sheet Set Manager for Web.

New Features

Collaboration for Civil 3D

The first two enhancements require the install of Desktop Connector version May 31, 2022 (v. 15.7.0.1767) or a later version.

  • When opening DWG files which have been synced locally, you may observe as much as 25% faster open times when the data contains significant number of data reference relationships.
  • When using Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D, an XML configuration file can be used to prevent a drawing's View Frame Template file for Sheet creation from being uploaded when saving or dragging and dropping the drawing to Autodesk Docs.
Multiple configuration files can be used if needed to support multiple groups or companies.
To prevent these files from being uploaded, use the new reference type of "VIEWFRAME_TEMPLATE" in the exclusion configuration file. See the Civil 3D Help link below:
To Prevent Reference Templates from Being Uploaded to Autodesk Docs when Using Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D
  • Added the ability to plot Sheets with large surfaces (MMS and GRS files) using Sheet Set Manager for Web.
  • Added the ability to plot Sheets with Data Shortcut Surfaces using the Sheet Set Manager for Web when the Surface is referenced as Reference Only.

Plan Production Tools

  • Added the ability to create Sheets from existing View Frames and add them to a Sheet Set on Autodesk Docs for plotting using the Sheet Set Manager for Web.
  • Added the ability to create Section Sheets and add them to a Sheet Set on Autodesk Docs for plotting using the Sheet Set Manager for Web.
  • The View Frame Template Path in a cloud drawing is now updated automatically when the Sheet drawing is opened from different machines, so users can create Sheets based on the View Frame Template selected by other users.

Fixed Issues

Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D

  • Fixed an issue in which an unexpected Related Data folder is created when uploading a host drawing that has a large surface (MMS file) reference using Desktop Connector.
