The Open Standards for Autodesk Civil 3D fully support the National CAD Standards (NCS) including the GSA and DOD versions.
These Open Standards have been civilized for civil engineering, survey, and government agency production and publication use.
National CAD Standards Compliance
These Standards purposefully do not conflict with the AIA NCS and UDS recommendations for versions 6.0, 5.0 and 4.0.
We recommend you purchase a copy of the National CAD Standards and support that ongoing effort.
Standards History
The Standards have been in continuous development in one form or another since the earliest release of the initial beta of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
They have been publically updated since the release of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009.
Autodesk officially sponsered a 2010 release and included a version of the initial Framework for Civil 3D with the product release.
This Autodesk product was publically called the US California Country Kit
The Framework products remain a generic US Imperial standard with intentionally little or no regional bias.
The Standards and Conversion
The Framework for Civil 3D as a product has been successfully ported to Metric all or in part.
The Framework Standards are in the use in multiple countries.
The estimated organization base count probably exceeds 10000+ organizations.
