Drainage Tools Civil 3D 2026.2

The Drainage Tools for Civil 3D are now included with the Civil 3D 2026.2 Update install. The updated Drainage Tools are a production-ready tool set designed to integrate the drainage design environment of Civil 3D with analysis capabilities powered by InfoDrainage analysis cloud-services without leaving Civil 3D!

This significant Civil 3D Update enhances drainage design capabilities by providing new workflows for the design of ponds, underground storage devices, and open channels, as well as improved catchments with expanded runoff method support.

Cloud Tools Updates

The following improvements are included and dependent on the installation of the recent AutoCAD 2026.1.1 Update.

AutoCAD Sheet Set Manager

Cloud storage for Sheet Sets offers streamlined management and enhanced collaboration. The Sheet Set Manager allows efficient work with cloud-stored sheet sets.

Civil 3D 2026.2 enables collaboration with the Sheet Set Manager in the plan production workflow

DWG Integrity and Migration for Docs 3.0

Autodesk DWG Integrity and Migration for Docs (DIM) provides the technology to check and upload local and/or network project data to collaborative cloud projects.

Autodesk Bulk Upload Tool

The Bulk Upload Tool works with DWG Integrity and Migration for Docs and Autodesk Desktop Connector (ADC). The Tool allows for the upload of large files, folders and projects from the desktop to collaborative cloud projects while maintaining drawings and Civil 3D references.

Design Review in the ACC

Civil Tools improvements were added to the Autodesk Model Viewer that functions in the Autodesk Construction Cloud and Autodesk Docs cloud environment. Use Civil 3D alignment stationing navigation, perpendicular cross sections, and civil engineering inquiry tools such as station offset measurement to enhance the multidisciplinary review process.

Horizontal Regression Analysis

Improved readability in the Horizontal Regression Analysis dialog by adding descriptive table titles.
Improved validation of Alignment names.
Unsupported characters are now blocked, ensuring names are saved and displayed correctly

New in Project Explorer

Added the ability to export 3D AutoCAD DWG files.

New in Dynamo for Civil 3D

The nodes in the Civil 3D section of the library now includes several groups of new nodes for stormwater control objects, which can be used to boost efficiency for drainage design and analysis workflows.

Node Autocomplete has received a complete makeover in the Civil 3D 2026.2 Update. By simply hovering over any port on a node, see a new purple icon that triggers a new Node Autocomplete toolbar when clicked. These machine learning-powered node suggestions have the potential to vastly speed up graph-building workflows and minimize the need to spend time searching for the right node via trial and error.

Dynamo Core has been updated to version 3.6.1, which introduces the previously mentioned Node Autocomplete improvements, enhancements to groups, and bug fixes. In addition, it adds significant performance updates that are all about turbocharging your Dynamo navigation experience, making it faster and more responsive, thus minimizing your wait time.

Miscellaneous Enhancements

Alignments

• Added a warning when exporting LandXML files containing unsupported curve types.
• Added a new system variable 'AeccEnhancedSpiralSampling' to control spiral tessellation.

Feature Lines

• Added a notification for clear feedback when converting a feature line segment from a straight line to an arc.
• Added the ability to edit the elevation of a PI and elevation point when hovering over the feature line PI or elevation point.
• Enabled conversion between Feature Line segments and arcs, allowing the extension of Feature Lines at either endpoint through both the ribbon and in-canvas interface

There are significant performance improvements related to Civil 3D Feature Lines when:

• Editing elevations
• Selecting and querying in the Feature Line properties palette
• Editing Siteless Feature Lines
• Offsetting Siteless Feature Llines to maintain their independent non-site status
• Adding a Point of Intersection (PI) to a Feature Line's arc segment, maintain the original radius of both arc segments.
• Importing and exporting to LandXML.

Assemblies and Subassemblies

• Fixed an issue in subassembly composer in which a LOOP object placed on LH side was not working correctly.

COGO Points

• Fixed a stability issue that could occur when using the COGO Editor.

Drainage Tools: Analysis

• Fixed an issue displaying export status messages for a drainage analysis after the Export panel was collapsed.

Drainage Tools: Catchments

• Changed the confusing "Properties..." command to "Catchment Properties..." on the catchment right-click menu in Prospector.
• Fixed the title of the Catchment Properties group on the Runoff tab in Catchment Properties dialog box.

Drainage Tools: Rainfall Manager

• Fixed an issue where duplicate custom rainfall distributions could be created when importing a rainfall library.

Dynamo

• Fixed an issue in which the PipeNetwork.ShortestPathBetweenParts node would return Part objects instead of Pipe and Structure objects.
• Fixed a stability issue when using Node Autocomplete.
• Fixed a stability issue that could occur with Python scripts with invalid API calls.
• Fixed an issue in which nodes for retrieving the reference surface of an object would return the wrong surface type.

Feature Line

• Fixed an issue in which moving a PI (Point of Intersection) to an elevation point on a feature line was not restricted, resulted in the unintended removal of the elevation point. This action is now prohibited to maintain elevation data integrity.
• Fixed an issue in which the point count was incorrect when importing a closed feature line from LandXML.
• Fixed an issue in which you could not snap a feature line elevation point to an intersection after editing.
• Fixed an issue in which you could move an elevation point to a PI from the elevation editor.
• Fixed an issue in which an arc radius would change when inserting a PI into an arc and removing the PI.
• Fixed an issue in which you could not insert a PI that is perpendicular to the segment.
• Fixed an issue in which an endpoint is missing after breaking a smoothed feature line.
• Fixed a stability issue when running reverse and join commands for smoothed feature lines.

Grading

• Fixed a stability issue when creating grading transitions.
• Fixed a stability issue when editing grading feature lines.

Gravity Pipes

• Fixed an issue in which a gravity pipe network could not be set as the data source for profile view bands.
• Fixed an issue in which a gravity pipe network parts list did not display in the Import Style dialog box.
• Fixed an issue in which a structure height was not immediately updated when a pipe changed.

Horizontal Regression

• Fixed an issue in which the offset calculated in the Horizontal Regression Analysis UI would display different results than those in the output alignment for spirals.
• Fixed an issue in which the localized versions of Horizontal Regression Analysis where the Segments Table could only be edited in English.

Miscellaneous

• Fixed a stability issue that could occur when the Adjust Mapcheck command did not generate the adjustment data files in Notepad successfully when using Windows 11.
• Fixed a stability issue that could occur when attempting to export a drawing.

Model Viewer

• Fixed an issue in which a Dynamo-owned object was not updated correctly in Model Viewer.

Ponds

• Fixed an issue in which UNDO did not work properly for ponds shown in Model Viewer.
• To alleviate confusion, connectivity info is no longer shown in the pond properties for data referenced ponds.
• Fixed an issue in which preview graphics did not display during mirror, rotate, or scale operations.
• Fixed an issue in which the bottom contour for a surface-based pond could show in the wrong location after an UNDO.

Pressure Pipes

• Fixed an issue in which the pressure tee unexpectedly rotated when connected to a lateral pipe.
• Fixed an issue in which the pressure pipe network name did not display correctly in the table title.
• Fixed an issue in which certain pressure parts were added to the wrong pipe run after swapping a Tee/Cross.

Profiles

• Fixed an issue in which projected solids could be displayed in a profile view.
• Fixed an issue in which the horizontal grid lines in a profile view did not display correctly.

Project Explorer

• Fixed an issue in which alignments in the "Set Reference Alignment" and "Set Reference Surface" dialogs did not display by name in alphanumeric order.

Rail Design

• Fixed an issue in which selecting a specific profile from the drop-down list in Create Diverted Profile was ignored, and Civil 3D always used the first profile of the related alignment instead.

Reference Templates

• Fixed an issue in which changes to Property Data format in a Property Set within the reference template file were not being synchronized with the host drawing.

Subassembly Composer

• Fixed a stability issue that could occur when opening Subassembly pkt files in Subassembly Composer 2026.
• Fixed a stability issue that could occur the Loop Repetition was set as empty.
• Fixed an issue in which Subassembly Composer loop geometry was not working as expected.

Surfaces

• Fixed a stability issue when creating a wall breakline from a polyline with a short segment.
