Autodesk Revit 2024.2.1 Update

The Revit 2024 updates are cumulative and include all changes from previously released Revit 2024 updates.

Revit 2024.2.1 Update does not support uninstall.
If Revit 2024.2.1 Update is applied to Revit 2024 the software cannot be reverted to its pre-update state.

This update addresses customer reported issues and product instabilities.

Issues Resolved

This update resolves an issue with the extensible storage schema that impacts addons and projects upgraded to Revit 2024. Version 2024.2 is compatible with the previous 2024.1.1 update. 2024.2 and 2024.1.1 can be used concurrently for project work.

The 2024.1.1 and 2024.2 updates are important for work-sharing users. It is essential that all project team members are using these releases of Revit or newer. This prevents the potential reintroduction of the extensible storage schema problem to models worked on in versions of Revit prior to 2024.1.1.

3D Shapes

• Fixed an issue creating spiral stairs located outside of Revit's maximum distance limit.

API

• Fixed an issue with API selected elements from linked instance not highlighted properly.

Coordination Model

• Improved performance while linking coordination models from Autodesk Docs.
• Fixed an issue regarding the content displayed while browsing to link a Coordination Model when there are at least two Autodesk Construction Cloud projects with the same name.
• Fixed an issue for parameters created under “Other” group when editing families from a Revit model.
• Fixed an issue regarding the positioning of local coordination models linked by shared coordinates.

Copy-Cut-Paste

• Improved stability when trying to insert 2D elements into a Drafting View.

Data Exchanges

• Improved stability when loading Data Exchanges which contain custom parameters.

Dimensions

• Fixed an issue that linear vertical dimension cannot snap to the adjacent vertical linear dimension when placed.

DirectShape Elements

• Fixed an issue where some Revit 2024 models with imported geometry could not be opened in Revit builds newer than 2024.

Dynamo for Revit

• Fixed an issue where Yes/No family parameters could not be set by using FamilyDocument.SetParameterValueByName Dynamo node.
• Fixed an issue with Dynamo node GlobalParameter.SetValue not handling integer input values correctly.
• Fixed an issue with incorrect output of the Category.ByName node in Dynamo.

Export DGN

• Prevent export of cropped images to DGN in order to prevent a crash introduced by an external component.

Export DWG/DXF

• Fixed an issue where solid hatches would get the wrong index color when exported to DWG.

Export to FBX

• Updated components used for import/export of FBX files to address security vulnerabilities.

Graphics

• Fixed an issue where surface patterns on floors overridden to be transparent did not display on screen in structural views.
• Fixed an issue where Hidden Lines overrides in Structural Disciplines displayed two overlapping hidden lines.

Import/Export/Link SAT/SKP

1. Addressed potential security vulnerabilities.

Import/Link DWG/DXF/DGN

• Improved fidelity of 3D geometry imported from DWG, particularly for conical, toroidal, and spline-based surfaces.

Licensing

• Improve the stability of the Save command after the subscription expiration date was reached during an active Revit session.

Line Settings

• Fixed an issue for cut line styles.

Link RVT Files

• Improved stability for some commands when linked Revit models are loaded and visible in the active view.

Link Topography

• Addressed potential security vulnerabilities in the LMVTK component.

Materials

• Addressed potential security vulnerabilities.
• Improved stability when adding a material from legacy customer material library to document material library.

MEP Connectors

• Fixed an issue that caused disconnection errors when a family containing adjustable connectors is modified.

MEP Miscellaneous

• Fixed an issue that newly uploaded P&ID drawings from AutoCAD Plant 3D couldn't be viewed using the P&ID modeler.

Phasing

• Fixed an issue that could allow incorrect phasing (demolished before created) when both properties were edited at the same time for shared, nested families.

Pressure Loss Calculations

• Fixed an issue that led the background worker process into an endless flow and pressure loss calculation.

Print

• Fixed an issue where symbolic lines set to 'draw in foreground'  in a nested family did not produce hidden lines in the model when printed with the Vector option.

Project Browser

• Fixed a thumbnail display issue in the Properties palette in non-English sessions of Revit.

Render in Cloud

• Addressed potential security vulnerabilities.

Revit Cloud Model (workshared)

• Improved stability when managing worksets from the Manage Links dialog while signed out.

Revit Home

• Fixed an inconsistent font issue in Revit Home when the system language is different from the regional format setting.
• Fixed and issue that caused the scroll bar to disappear after restoring a version in Revit Home.
• Corrected the background color for the tooltip in the version history dialog in Revit Home.
• Improved the style of error message in Revit Home.
• Fixed the issue of blank page initialization when the network connection is unstable in Revit Home.
• Fixed the unexpected refresh issue when opening the model in the search results page in Revit Home.
• Fixed the issue where the username was displayed incorrectly after restoring to a previous version from the version history panel in Revit Home.
• Fixed the issue that Revit Home not updating when there is changes for folders and files in ACC and BIM360.
