March 24, 2020 – Autodesk announces support for Collaboration for Plant 3D in BIM 360 Design
Along with the release of AutoCAD 2021 Autodesk also announced this week the availability of BIM 360 Design support for the Plant 3D Toolset.
Collaboration for Plant 3D
Collaboration for Plant 3D allows for better collaboration and interoperability between Civil 3D, Revit, and Plant 3D in the BIM 360 Design environment. The new functionality is focused on Plant 3D P&ID tools and workflows.
Collaboration for Plant 3D makes it easy for project administrators to specify appropriate levels of access permissions to files before sharing plant projects with key stakeholders.
P&ID drafters can work on the P&IDs for the project and share those with piping designers who can utilize the P&IDs to create the project’s piping models.
Drafters can more easily collaborate with piping designers to generate the necessary isometric and orthographic drawings.
Project managers can check project progress at any stage, from start to finish, and assign tasks to get the project completed on time, and on budget, and with the highest quality.
Collaboration for Plant 3D Delivers
- Enhanced security. With permissions management, users can control who gets access to specific project data.
- Improved team collaboration. With project files in the cloud, teams get anytime, anywhere access from one firm or multiple organizations and locations.
- Minimized complexities. With project files stored in a common data environment, users can better maintain accuracy and consistency. And, with a cloud-based platform, IT support and maintenance requirements can be minimized.
