The IFC 4.3 Extension 2026 for Civil 3D, IFC 4.3 Extension 2025.1 for Civil 3D, IFC 4.3 Extension 2024.3 for Civil 3D, and IFC 4.3 Extension 2023.4 for Civil 3D are available via Autodesk Access and the Autodesk Subscription website.

The official release date for the IFC 4.3 Extension and IFC Extension Updates was Jun 18, 2025.

The IFC 4.3 Extensions install does make changes to the default Civil 3D menu and Ribbons.
If you employ custom versions of the same, remember to back them up prior to the install.

IFC 4.3 Extensions for Civil 3D

The IFC 4.3 Extension for Autodesk Civil 3D provides commands for importing and exporting IFC files in Civil 3D drawings

New Features

  • Added documentation and samples to the install directory.
  • Added support of linear placement of objects by allowing attachment to one or more alignments.
  • Added support to inject properties from an external *.csv file at Project, Root Element, Prospector Folder, and spatial structure levels.
  • Added support of additional export AutoCAD Surfaces.
  • Added the ability to extract volume properties for all Solids and Bodies.
  • Added the ability to export gravity and pressure network NULL structures.
  • Added the ability to enable identification of shading transparency from a Civil 3D entity.
  • Added a configuration to nominate georeferencing without distortion using the IfcRigidOperation command.
  • Improved CANT, Alignment and Profile compliance with buildingSMARTS new documentation.
  • Improved handling of Coordinate Systems.
  • Improved handling of Civil 3D Styles.
  • Improved handling of excluded for export entities and excluded parents of objects being exported.
  • Improved handling of Profiles during export.
  • Improved corridor shape name mapping.
  • Improved support for feature line properties.
  • Improvement to generation of placement relative to host element.
  • Improved support of user nominated mapping.
