IFC 4.3 Extension Updates for Civil 3D 2026-24

The IFC 4.3 Extension 2026.1 for Civil 3D, IFC 4.3 Extension 2025.2 for Civil 3D, and IFC 4.3 Extension 2024.4 for Civil 3D are available via Autodesk Access and the Autodesk Subscription website.

The official release date for the IFC 4.3 Extension and IFC Extension Updates is May 11, 2026.

The IFC 4.3 Extensions install does make changes to the default Civil 3D menu and Ribbons.
If you employ custom versions of the same, remember to back them up prior to the install.

IFC 4.3 Extensions for Civil 3D

The IFC 4.3 Extension for Autodesk Civil 3D provides commands for importing and exporting IFC files in Civil 3D drawings

New Features

• Support for nominating class mapping using XLSX and CSV files. By default entity mapping uses spreadsheet with dropdown IFC mappings.
• Enable detection of CSV delimiter which was preventing property nominations when ; is used.
• Highlight any errors to command line at completion of import and export.
• Improvements to export of georeferenced drawings.  This includes IfcProject properties for evidence in viewers that do not display georeferencing data.
• Georeferenced models without EPSG coordinates systems now are described with IfcWellKnownText.
• Checks enabled when exporting that the AutoCAD, Civil 3D and coordinate system units are consistent.
• Import into a blank drawing will assign Civil 3D Coordinate Reference System to drawing if recognized by matching EPSG code or Well Known Text Id from IfcProjectedCRS.
• Addition of command to save and automatically edit IFC Class mapping file.
• Recognition of AutoCAD profile as a source location for configuration files.
• Warning when duplicate IFC class mapping is detected within a mapping file.
• Additional improvements in geometry export.
• IFC Export header improvement for application identification.
• Command added to enabled preview and visualization of user nominated linear referencing.
• Added support to export body entities.
• Improved documentation.
