The IFC 4.3 Update 1 Extension for Civil 3D 2025, IFC 4.3 Update 2 Extension for Civil 3D 2024, IFC 4.3 Update 3 Extension for Civil 3D 2023, and IFC 4.3 Update 4 Extension for Civil 3D 2022 are available via Autodesk Access and the Autodesk Subscription website.

The official release date for the IFC 4.3 Extension Updates was Oct 1, 2024.

The IFC 4.3 Extensions install does make changes to the default Civil 3D menu and Ribbons.
If you employ custom versions of the same, remember to back them up prior to the install.

IFC 4.3 Extension Updates for Civil 3D 2025-2022

The IFC 4.3 Extension for Civil 3D adds commands to configure, import and export IFC files in Civil 3D. The extension allows creation of the IFC 4 & the IFC4.3_ADD2 (The ISO Standard version for 4.3) export files and will import all IFC formats up to IFC 4.3. the schemas are supported.

Feature Enhancements

  • The ISO version of the IFX4x3_ADD2 schema is the default export format.
  • Improved performance when exporting from read only drawings.
  • Added the ability to insert properties from an external CSV file at Project, Root Element, and Prospector Folder spatial structure levels.
  • Added the ability to export AutoCAD Surfaces.
  • Added the ability to control CANT Linear Segment options on export to support legacy tools.
  • Added the ability to name and define the IFC Object type of a root object container.
  • Add the ability to place Civil 3D sites at the root level or within the root object container.
  • Alignments with multiple profiles are now nested by default.
