AutoCAD Civil 3D alignments play a central role in the production of better deliverables in less time and with less effort. We have to think about alignments differently in Civil 3D. Autodesk certainly did.
I call the overall concept - Intelligent Publish on Demand or iPOD. The pivotal productivity role for alignments is true whether those…Read more
The concept of a Managed Dynamic Model is important in AutoCAD Civil 3D. The Civil 3D Dynamic Model (lots of civil engineering and survey data all interconnected and related to one another) is very useful and pretty cool. By now we’ve learned that the Dynamic Model can become a bit of a horror if we don’t manage it.
We all want better deliverables. We want them faster and with less cost of production. We may want and/or need our digital deliverables to go to raw AutoCAD, a GIS, or even Microstation (gasp). Can we get it those results from AutoCAD Civil 3D? Sure.

We’ve been talking about Alignments in AutoCAD Civil 3D as Design Control Manager (DCM) objects. Alignments are a bucket of buckets collector. Alignments are indeed a Management interface tool allowing us lots of access to the interfaces and tools of managed control. Certainly part of DCM functionality is Annotative what with View Frames and what not. Read more
Every good tale requires a plot. From a neuroscience perspective for human beings this in built into the way our brains work. By this I mean, humans think (process), remember (store), and communicate (publish) what we believe, hope, sometimes know, and try to learn (or not) by tales. Story telling is fundamental to the mechanism of human thought.
In the working world of civil engineers and…Read more
