Happy New Autodesk Year! Early this month Autodesk released the latest build of Infraworks 360- the Autodesk Cloud-powered, conceptual civil design engine. My words not theirs.
If you employ beefier versions of IDS 2016, and have Autodesk Subscription your tools in Infraworks 360 (IW360) got better, deeper, and more robust. Autodesk says the Q4 Upgrade to Infraworks 360, is basically for free.
Yes. The Road Design, Bridge Design, and Watershed Analysis tools for IW360 are now included without an additional charge. The new versions of these IW Tools get to be more useful too. Way cool.
Ok. Christopher Robin? Could Eeyore still complain?
Worth More Than a Look
Yes. Infraworks 360 even works better with your AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 too. To get you there Autodesk also updated and renamed the Autodesk Application Manager to the Autodesk Desktop app. Autodesk Desktop is the typical delivery vehicle for a new Civil 3D Productivity Pack 2 and the Infraworks 360 R4 Upgrade. With the new Autodesk Desktop you may also discover tools you forgot to install.
Maybe not. Of course, that does mean to become an Infraworks 360 Tool user you have to have IW360 installed and your Subscription account manager has to give you rights to use it.
Oh. Bother.
Pooh? Where’s the Honey?
Eric Chappell, the Autodesk Infraworks 360 Community Evangelist, and members of the product team did a recent webinar that covers and demos the new features in Infraworks 360 well.
Everyone should watch it.
Autodesk hosts regular bi-monthly webinars on Infraworks 360 to help get you up to speed. All the recorded videos and more support are available on the Infraworks Community portal. Yes, there is a YouTube channel with 172 videos. There are new IW360 tutorial models to explore.
“Yeah right. How do I find time to learn Infraworks 360? I have project deliverables to get out.”
