Out here in Civil 3D Land we are daily users of Autodesk Civil 3D. All of us have production projects and those day-to-day, ongoing concerns. The specifics of the latest new Autodesk Civil 3D product Release or Update may or may not blow us away. The odds are good we will benefit from a new Civil 3D Release and the Civil 3D Updates to the older Civil 3D releases that will sooner or later tag along for the ride.
From one perspective too many of us make far too much of a big deal about Civil 3D Upgrades and Updates. We might argue that we simply neglect to proactively manage a ritual process to handle the problem.
We clearly see the Stop Ahead sign and speed on by. Just sayin’.
There is Much More to Our Civil 3D Than Code
The practical reality is that new AutoCAD and Civil 3D code only a small part of the real-world effort and investment required for us to pump our civil engineering and survey project work out the door.
OK. I am certainly biased.
The Framework for Civil 3D is pure content. No Code. No mandatory software upgrades either.

The Framework Spreadsheet Tools Are Content Not Software
A potential Framework for Civil 3D customer called me the other day to ask about the Framework for Civil 3D Spreadsheet Tools. The Framework includes a bunch of Spreadsheet Tools. A number of the Spreadsheet Tools were “interesting”.

Most contain lots of powerful Excel cell formula content tweaked to help make it easier to systematically manage all the many Civil 3D parts and pieces in detail.
