If you maintain a set of templates, you'll be horrified Jeff suggests your users edit your template Settings at the end of the video.
That said the Name Templates Settings are extremely useful and productive. The Name Templates Settings for a group of related Features can also be very detailed. We need to manage that.
You can build separate task-based templates to manage Settings or train users to load them from a resource library on demand.
Be aware that the Reference Template tools do NOT support automatic Import and update support for Command Settings in 2017 and 2018.

Let it be said that there are actually 4 levels of Setting Hierarchy - Drawing, Feature, Feature Type, and Command.
The Feature Type Settings are all about Label Style Settings and each Feature's specific Label Style Defaults. These sometimes overlooked sections of the Settings Hierarchy can make all the difference in your ability to effectively manage annotation in Civil 3D.
