The first 38 minutes of this video is a good instructional review of AutoCAD Layer basics and Civil 3D Layer mechanics in Civil 3D Styles and Settings.
Funny. Almost upfront Kyle states that Styles are more powerful than Layers in Civil 3D then proceeds to talk about and employ the AutoCAD Layer Manager time and time again.
It is easy to almost never employ the AutoCAD Layer Manager in the production use of Civil 3D. Say what?
For reasons unknown, Kyle dodges some really important essential tools like Layer States.
Simply put: Great Civil 3D Style Tools coupled with managed Layers States create more freedom to work better and faster in Civil 3D.
