This is a three part series. Use the list icon to pick the video to watch.
From the ADSKInfrastruction Channel on YouTube

  • Video 1 - Setup and Settings
  • Video 2 - Detention Pond Design and Workflow
  • Video 3 - Storm Water and Pipes and Inlets Workflows

The initial build of your Pipes and Parts Lists isn't really covered in proper depth, but you do get the important concepts.
As with all things Civil 3D a thought out Setup and Execution Plan is a must.

 Pipe Network Data Shortcuts

Civil 3D Pipes By Layer

JT McManmon an Application Engineer at CAD Technology Center talks Data Shortcuts for Pipes

Pipe Network Data Shortcuts ByLayer

Comments

JT's discussion and training about Object Assignment and data shortcuts is worth considering and mentioning.
This is an interesting way to employ C3D Object Layer Assignment using the idea of a dummy Layer and Layer Modifiers.
Is it just easier to train yourself to remember to change the specific Drawing Settings properties BEFORE you do the deal?
No. Wait a minute when we create a reference to a Pipe network can we change things beforehand? You bet.
How many named Pipe Networks do you have in your project? Are we still stuck with only information Management by Layer?
Ok. I'm biased towards Style Management for some reason.
