How to use the COGO Editor in the Survey Ribbon. Not to be confused with the Traverse and Adjustment tools in 2016 Productivity Pack 3. That's a bit confusing...
I cannot stress enough that you need to get the setup done and save the file and save often in all of these tools which do work only in memory.
Steve mentions this but it takes him a while to get there. :+)

It is a good idea to watch the entire series to get the whole point and various issues involved.
Covers the essential issues of Grid to Ground Transformation in Civil 3D.
Alan also covers the creation of a local coordinate system by copying an editing an existing one. Great stuff.
A word of caution - more current versions of Civil 3D Survey may handles the Survey Db transformation differently.
Best to check as this may vary also in specific service pack releases.

Wes Newman from Autodesk covers the basics of the PP3 Toolbox Traverse Editor and Traverse Adjustment tools
These Traverse Tools are now included in the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 v1 Enchancements available Sept 2016.

The Traverse Editor replaces the COGO Editor in the Survey Ribbon. It is started from the Toolspace Toolbox after you install Productivity Pack 3 or the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 v1 Enchancements.
It replaces code from an earlier 2016 Productivity Pack. A bit confusing...
