Jeff calls the Profile View's data behind properties "parameters" in the video. Maybe the semantics are important?
Typically, a parameter is used in code to drive decision variables. Civil 3D Styles have current collected properties which may be the result of applied parameters.
The Framework's Profile View Styles often handle the display of typical Station Ranages and Elevation Ranges in Profile View in a different Profile View style label.
