Key Changes

See the Spreadsheet Tools help and documentation in the Members section
You must Register and login to see this AutoCAD Civil 3D help
See the NewKeys sheet in the Layer Standards Tools

A significant change is made to -NPLT Key (NoPlot) properties for STB to CTB conversions
The old 244 color convention was changed to color 240 in the Layer Standards.
The STB plotstyles convention of Invisible Ink is not effected.
Make sure you update your Layer Standards files and Layer States to reflect this important update.

Any Keys that employed the STB color ranage of 240-255 were changed for CTB compatibility
An attempt was made to intentionaly limit major color shade changes for visual consistency
The Keys and colors for specific Keys were updated as follows:

  • BRKL 232-233 to 202-203
  • CANT 242-243 to 232-233
  • DIRC 241 to 231
  • DTCI 232-233 to 132-133
  • FEN@ -all fence keys from 252-253 to 222-223
  • GMJR 21 to 252-253 - this increases the plotted lineweight of major grids in View Features
  • GMNR 41 to 251 - screens minor grids
  • GRBK 252-253 to 202-203
  • GRID 21 to 251 - screens generic minor grids
  • LINK 50 to 51 - prints unscreened and proper linkweight links in sections
  • MAJR 242-243 to 22-23
  • MASS 242-243 to 232-233
  • MINR 252-253 to 21 - this decreases the plotted lineweight of minor contours
  • NPLT 244 to 240 - matches Invisible Ink with a standard color with 0 lineweight in CTB
  • Note that the PATT for hatch patterns was not changed in STB but is changed to 250 in CTB
  • PAVE 252-253 to 42-43
  • PROF 242-243 to 232-233 - all Profile Views use this Minor Key
  • REFR 242-243 to 232-233
  • RWAY 242-243 to 232-233
  • SAMP 241 to 231 - Minor Key employed for Sample Line components

  • TOPD 252-253 to 212-213
  • UNKN 240 to 231
  • VIEW 242-243 to 232-233 - this is the Major Key for all Civil 3D Viewer Features

Note that the Major Keys and/or important Minor Keys of PAVE, PROF, and VIEW had subtle color shade changes.

Precedence Value Changes

  • The PROP Key Precedence value was increased from 1 to 2 to support Utility property's color resolution.
This agrees with the existing ESTM Precedence value of 2 that supports Utility property's color resolution.
  • The BNDY and RSRV Precedence values were decreased from 2 to 1 to compenstate for the PROP change.
  • The QSCT Precedence value was decreased from 2 to 1 to compenstate for the PROP change.
  • The color for layer V-PROP-SCTN was forced to 214 to comply with PROP Key color standards
  • The color for layer C-PROP-CURV-LABL was forced to 222 to comply with LABL Key color standards
  • Various VIEW GRID Key plotstyles forced to Screened values for STB to conform with CTB conversions
