    The Release 8 for 2019.2 has been a work in progress for many months.

    AddOns were focused on better customization capability and significant improvements to production and management of mission critical essential tools.

    Compatibility and General Improvement Summary

    Release 8 2019.2 Framework products will run in Civil 3D 2018 but will not run in previous Civil 3D releases.

    The AutoCAD DWG changes in 2019 - All resource drawings are upgraded to the 2018 DWG format.

    The Civil 3D object model is again new in 2019.2 as it was in 2018. All resource drawings are upgraded.

    The Release 8 for Civil 3D 2019.2 changes are focused on Layer Standards adaptability, improved Key Systems, and new Adaptive Block Style Collections.

    Airfield, Beach Erosion, Flood Control, Waterways, Irrigation Control, and all the typical forms of project earthworks for both design and existing conditions are supplied.

    We also included some typical examples of potential Adaptive Building Block task-based mashups in the new collection. If you require more detailed design structures, the Adaptive Building Blocks can be easily combined. For example: your Flood Control project design includes detailed Riprap, Gabion, and Revetment structures and with detailed benching and diversion drainage ditches.

    For simpler projects each Adaptive Building Block can all be easily simplified by the basic principal of the deletion of extra unnecessary Styles and/or Layers before assembling them into your Civil 3D Template or Reference Template. Don’t need detailed Area control for your project, purge the Parcel Styles and layers and get to work.

    Each Adaptive Building Block includes the appropriate Feature Line, Alignment, Profile, and Parcel based integrated Styles. In other words, if you create a Levee based Corridor the entire integrated collection of warranted Styles is instantly available.
    These include the common Styles for design, QAQC, and publication:

    • Appropriate secondary Offset Alignment Styles
    • Appropriate Profile Styles
    • All the matched and detailed Feature Line Styles
    • Typical Area boundaries in both outlined and fill Parcel Styles

    The Adaptive Building Block or By Key collection is supplied in addition to the huge Jump Kit Style Library of thousands of project tested production styles. Please note that all previously supplied By Key Style resources have be totally rebuilt and replaced in Release 8. The existing Jump Kit By Key resources are all included but significantly improved for ease of use and now include new capabilities and more Style Tools.

    The choice to employ any of the specialty Adaptive Building Block Styles and detail is optional. You can safely mix and match the Framework’s supplied generic Styles with the more detailed and specific Adaptive Building Block Styles in production.

    You will spend less time hassling with the Layer details and mechanics in every project during all forms of production design and publication work.

    • The typical NCS annotative Layers are built into each Adaptive Building Block by default.
    • Each Adaptive Building Block also includes integrated and standardized Layer State controls which are easily combined into the Framework’s existing supplied Layer States systems.

    • All the Layer Property particulars for each and every Adaptive Building Block can be systematically managed by you.

    Support for Your Design Methodology of Choice

    The new Adaptive Building Block Style collections support both classic Feature Line and Grading object mechanics and workflows.

    Out of the box these new Release 8 Adaptive Building Block Style Tools also provide mission critical support for the more powerful Corridor-based workflows now available in more recent releases of Civil 3D.

    The new Spreadsheet Tools allow users to more easily customize the Framework's survey codes, points, and figures in complete detail.
    Includes matched pairs of Description Key Set Tools and Figure Db Tools for both NCS 6 Utility Layers and NCS 6 AIA classic Utility Layers.

    This is a new set of Release 7 to Release 8 Layer Standards Spreadsheet Tools for both STB and CTB that supports the NCS 6.0 Layer scheme.

    These new Layer Standards support Layer Standards compatibility with the DOD (Dept of Defense) and US Army Corp Layer Standards

    The new Spreadsheet Tools allow users to more easily customize the Framework's Layer system in complete detail.

    This is a new set of Release 7 to Release 8 Layer Standards Spreadsheet Tools for both STB and CTB that supports the NCS 6.0 Layer scheme.

    These new Layer Standards support Layer Standards compatibility with the DOD (Dept of Defense) and US Army Corp Layer Standards

    The new Spreadsheet Tools allow users to easily convert from the Framework's Utility Key code system (UT@@) to the classic AIA Utility Key code system.
    Includes Rename and Reset Rename scripts and example Layer Standards files in .dwg format.

    Duplicate, misnamed, and/or decrecated Styles from Release 4 and earlier releases have been removed.
    Updated replacement Styles are included. A Style Import test in Civil 3D will show you differences.

    Colors employed for like named Styles (e.g. "Curb") are consistent within the collection and obey Last Digit Rules.
    A consistent color scheme is employed to help end users more easily identify common Civil 3D displayed components.
    The new color Civil 3D component indentity scheme differs from the old STB only identification scheme employed previously.

    Colors between 50-90 were avoided to conform to black and white background visibility rules employed in Layer Standards Tools

    Code Set Style Resolution

    Be careful not to confuse the purpose of a Code Set Style.
    Many of the Styles in the Generals collection may be employed in Code Set Styles for a variety of purposes.
    Code Set Styles serve four very different purposes in Civil 3D:

    • Subassembly and Assembly constuction display in Plan - what the cross section looks like
    • Corridor output in Plan - how the plan view of the corridor may be deliniated, colorized, and/or screened for output
    • Cross Section display in the Section Editor
    • The detailed Section View output and annotation of Assemblies from corridors

    The supplied Code Set Styles are intentionally generalized but retain tasked based purposes reflected in Code Set Style names.

    Note that not every stock Subassembly code employed in Civil 3D is intentionally not represented in the Styles collection.
    Code Set Styles allow us to thoughtfully combine the application of more generalized Styles to build consistent results.
    For example employ:

    • A generic Curb shape style in a Code Set for use with Median coded structures.
    • A single pair of Cut and Fill Shape Styles with cover a multitude of Plan, Profile, and Section outputs.
    • A single basic Link style to represent many kinds of subassembly links in an Assembly when identification does not matter.
      Where another Code Set Style may employ specific Link Styles to help identify and aid in quality control tasks.

    This technique reduces the total Style count, improves output, and is typically much less confusing to most users.

    A similar combination technique is applied to Feature Line Styles employed in Code Set Styles for corridor output.
    Optional Feature Line Styles not employed in the supplied Code Set Styles are included.
    These include extra corridor Feature Line Styles and a selection of grading Feature Line Styles.
